The Combined Past Players and Officials Association provides a number of important financial benefits to all our members.
Bulk billing for medical consultations
Members are able to receive timely, bulk billed, consultation, diagnosis, advice on treatment, referral and support on muscular skeletal issues and any ongoing injuries or illnesses related to their football career, regardless of their financial situation, through the AFL Medical Officers Association.
Regardless of the health fund, members are able to obtain a refund of any excess fee paid (up to $500 per year) relating to hospital stays or procedures.
As life doesn’t always work out the way it was intended, financial support for medical services may be supported through the Geoff Pryor Hardship Fund.
Benefits available to members of AFL/VFL past player and officials’ organisations affiliated with the AFL Combined Past Players and Officials Association include:
- Eligibility to become a member of the AFLPA Alumni and gain access to its associated benefits (available only to past players who played one or more senior AFL/VFL games)
- The opportunity to participate in sporting events organised by the CPPOA such as golf and bowls days
- Access to functions at MCG matches specifically held for members of affiliated AFL/VFL past player and officials’ organisations
- Access to social functions held for members of affiliated AFL/VFL past player and officials’ organisations. These functions provide the opportunity to catch up with former team mates and past players and officials from other clubs
